| LUCHA: A Women's Legal Project provides assistance to immigrant women who are experiencing abuse at home by helping them resolve their immigration status without the assistance of their abusive partner. It also provides assistance to victims of violent crimes and sexual assault and to victims of human trafficking.
In July 2002, FIAC's Lucha partnered with two other service providers in the community to form the Florida Freedom Partnership (FFP), in response to the growing need for comprehensive services to victims of severe forms of trafficking and public education on the issues of human trafficking. As a result, survivors of human trafficking receive legal representation FROM Lucha staff, and social, employment, case management, and mental health services FROM the other partners.
