Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for HaitiansTemporary Protected Status (TPS) is a temporary immigration status for Haitians who were living in the U.S. on January 12, 2010, the date of the catastrophic earthquake. There was a six month registration period, now extended to January 18th, 2011 and you must apply before that date. Once granted TPS, you can work and live in the U.S. without fear of deportation. |
